The Support Child Development (SCD) Educator supports school-age children with additional developmental, behavioral, or emotional needs during the summer program. Working closely with educators, families, and support professionals, the SCD Educator promotes inclusion, independence, positive social interactions, and successful participation in daily activities.

Schedule

• Seasonal position: July and August
• Part-time: 3.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday
• 17.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Support school-age children requiring additional developmental or behavioral assistance.
• Be familiar with children's medical, developmental, and individual care plans.
• Collaborate with educators and program leadership to promote inclusion and participation in all program activities.
• Implement strategies and accommodations outlined in Individual Care Plans (ICPs).
• Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, educators, and external support professionals.
• Adapt activities and programming to meet individual needs and encourage success.
• Support engaging age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Model positive behavior, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all licensing requirements, policies, and procedures.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Ensure all individual care plans remain current and support the child's successful participation in the program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting children with diagnosed behavioral or developmental needs.
• Experience working with school-age children is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and support diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Ability to work effectively in a one-to-one support role while maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
• Capable of actively participating in indoor and outdoor activities with children, including walking, standing, bending, lifting program equipment, and responding to children's physical and emotional needs throughout the shift.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of a school-age summer program environment.

Maven Lane is seeking dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistants (ECEAs) to join our School Age and Supported Child Development teams. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding school-age children through their daily routines, fostering an environment that encourages intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm.
• Full-day shifts: Required during Pro-D days, Spring Break, and Summer Break.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Guidance & Supervision: Supervise and assist children in daily activities, ensuring a safe, warm, and joyful experience.
• Transportation: Ride the Maven Lane bus to supervise children during their commute from school to our facility.
• Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Program Facilitator and team members to create learning environments focused on emergent curriculum.
• Health & Safety: Maintain awareness of medical and developmental histories; observe children for signs of ill health or emotional distress; administer first aid and medication as required.
• Relationship Building: Maintain open, professional, and cooperative relationships with families to encourage program involvement.
• Facility Care: Ensure the room remains clean, orderly, and conducive to learning; assist with housekeeping and equipment upkeep.
• Professionalism: Adhere to the ECEBC Code of Ethics and Maven Lane policies; attend regular staff meetings and annual Society celebrations.

Qualifications

• Certification: Current ECEA Certificate or Responsible Adult Certificate (required).
• First Aid: Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid Certificate.
• Communication: Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
• Persona: A positive, proactive, and professional attitude with a flexible work ethic.
